Lapin Kansa julkaisi 1.6.2011 pienen jutun RAYS työpajasta!


The Lapin Kansa newspaper had a small article about the RAYS workshop on 1st June 2011.

What is there in-between Rovaniemi and Alanya?

Työpajassa kartoitimme valokuvatarinoiden aiheita varten, mitä on Rovaniemien ja Alanyan välissä - mikä niitä yhdistää. Tässä osallistujien miellekartat.

In the workshop we made mindmaps about what is between Rovaniemi and Alanya and what brings there cities together. This was made to find subjects for our photo stories.

Here is the RAYS projection at the opening night of the festival. Unfortunately the party was cut short because of heavy rain...

Exhibition in the harbor

Yhteistyökumppanimme Alanyassa, valokuvauskerho AFSAK, on rakentanut hienon näyttelyn nuorten valokuville osaksi kulttuuri- ja matkailufestivaalia. Rovaniemi and Alanya with the Eyes of Youth -näyttely esittelee kaksi kaupunkiamme, ja työpajan tulokset pyörivät projistointina. Toivottavasti mahdollisimman moni ehtii nähdä upeat näyttelyt!

Our collaborator in Alanya, the photo club AFSAK, has done a great job building an exhibition of the youth photos for the Culture and Travel Festival. Rovaniemi and Alanya with the Eyes of Youth exhibition presents our two citites, and the workshop results are projected on a screen. We hope lots of people will see these exhibitions!

The last day starting...

Valmistaudumme juuri ohjaajien kesken viimeisen päivän työpajaan. Tämään käymme läpi eilen kuvaamamme tarinat, järjestämme kuvat oikeaan järjestykseen, ja kuvaamme jokaisesta ryhmästä ryhmäkuvan näyttelyn projistointia varten.

We are just getting ready for the last day of the workshop. Today we will go through the stories form yesterday, we put the photos in the right order and photograph each group for the exhibition slide show.

Kuvasimme eilen UNESCON maailmanperintökohteessa Tophanen historiallisella alueella. Paikka oli todella hieno ja inspiroiva.

Yesterday we photographed at the UNESCO world heritage site Tophane. The place was beautiful and inspiring.

Workshop day 2

Työpajan toisena päivänä loimme valokuvien tarinoita pienissä ryhmissä. Jokainen ryhmä sai tarinaan teeman, joka annettiin pohjautuen edellisen päivän miellekarttaan Rovaniemen ja Alanyan yhtäläisyyksistä.
On the second day of the workshop we created photo stories in small groups. Each group received a theme based on the mind-mapping we made yesterday about similarities and differences between Rovaniemi and Alanya

 Ja tarinoista ei hauskuutta puuttunut...
The stories were quite hilarious... 

1) Orange Football 

Nämä pojat tekivät jännittävän tarinan appelsiinilla käytävästä jalkapallo-ottelusta. Alanyan jalkapallojoukkue on voittanut juuri Turkin mestaruuden, ja Rovaniemelläkin pelataan innoissan jalkapalloa. Mutta kuka voitti tämän matsin?
These boys made an exciting story about a football match with an orange. Alanya's footbaal team has won the Turkish National League recently, and in Rovaniemi we play football, too. But who won this match?

 

 

2) Sun Dance

Tämä ryhmä teki tarinan auringolle tehtävästä tanssista. Tällä tanssilla kaikki surut häipyvät!
This group made a story about a dance for the sun. With this dance, all sorrows go away!

3) Looking for Snow

Onko Alanyassa lunta kuten Rovaniellä? Tämä ryhmä selvitti etsivätarinassaan!
Is there snow in Alanya like in Rovaniemi? This group found out in their detective story!

4) Skiing Competition

Rovaniemen nuoret tuntevat lumella hiihtämisen, kun taas Alanyassa hiidetään veden päällä! Minkälainen on näiden kahden kaupungin hiihtokilpailu?

The youth from Rovaniemi knows about skiing on snow, and the youth from Alanya about skiing on water. What would a skiing competition between these two cities be like?

5) Water Tourist

Vesi yhdistää merenrannan Alanyaa ja jokivarren Rovaniemeä. Lisäksi molemmissa kaupungeissa on paljon matkailua. Näiden tyttöjen tarinassa surullinen turisti haluaa olla veden äärellä...

Water brings the seaside Alanya and riverside Rovaniemi together. Also, both cities have a lot of tourism. In the story of these girls, a sad tourist wants to find some water...

First workshop day in Alanya

Saavuimme turvallisesti Alanyaan, ja ystävyyskaupunkimme on vastaanottanut meidät lämpimästi.

We arrived safely to Alanya and our friendship city has given us a warm welcome.



Ensimmäisenä työpajapäivänä tapasimme vihdoin toisemme ja tutustuimme valokuvaamisen lomassa.
On the first workshop day we finally met each other and got to know eachother a little bit while photographing.

Tässä etsimme asioita, jotka yhdistävät Rovaniemeä ja Alanyaan - niitä löytyi paljon! Käytämme näitä ideoita huomenna kun kuvaamme tarinoita ryhmissä.

Here we are looking for things that are common with Rovaniemi and Alanya - there were a lot of them! These ideas will be used for the stories we shoot tomorrow in groups.

 Tässä alanyalaiset kuvaavat rovaniemeläistä Tiinaa siten, että puu kasvaa hänen päästään!

Here Alanyans are photographing Tiina from Rovaniemi so that the tree is growing out of her head!




 

Kuvasimme myös muita trikkikuvia ryhmissä. Tässä lamppupylväs mahtuu sormien väliin.

We photographed other kinds of trickshots, too, in small groups. Here the lamp post fits between fingers.

Hello Alanya! Greetings from Rovaniemi!

Rovaniemeltä matkalle mukaan lähtevien Ounasvaaran yläasteen oppilaiden tekemä upea tervehdysvideo, joka on lähetetty DVD:nä Alanyaan. Mitäpä muuta me haluaisimme sanoa kuin: Hei Alanya - pian me tulemme!

The youth from Ounasvaara Secondary School who travel to Alanya have made a greeting video that has been sent as a DVD to Alanya. This is what we want to say: Hello, Alanya - we are coming soon!

Kohti Alanyaa <> Towards Alanya

 

Olemme työskennelleet yhdessä kevät-talven, jotta saamme kaiken valmiiksi ennen matkaa. Tässä työstetään tervehdysvideota ja valitaan valokuvia Rovaniemi and Alanya with the Eyes of Youth -näyttelyyn.

We have been working together the late winter and early spring to get everything done before we travel to Alanya. In these photos we are working on a greeting video and selecting the photos for the Rovaniemi and Alanya with the Eyes of Youth exhibition.
